The Director of Finance and Operations leads month-end close, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis for a regional business unit. The role partners with senior leadership on financial decisions, prepares business plans and investment cases, analyzes performance, improves processes, and develops financial reporting. Responsibilities also include recruiting, coaching, and managing the finance team while driving initiatives that support measurable financial results and organic growth.

Manage accounting and financial activities for a portfolio of captive insurance companies. Prepare and review financial statements, general ledgers, reconciliations, regulatory filings, tax returns, budgets, and management reports under GAAP, IFRS, SAP, and modified GAAP. Coordinate with auditors, actuaries, regulators, attorneys, bankers, and other service providers; support compliance testing and audits; present financial information to clients and boards; and train and oversee teammates.

Provides strategic legal and regulatory guidance on governmental health and welfare plans, ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, and related compliance matters. Owns compliance calendars, advises public-sector clients on Florida requirements, leads privacy and security programs, delivers training, develops compliance resources, monitors legislative developments, and negotiates client, vendor, TPA, ASO, PBM, and stop-loss agreements. Supports business development through RFP responses and finalist presentations.

Performs accounts payable accounting, including reconciling account current, bordereaux, and item basis reports; managing carrier payables; correcting premiums; clearing surplus lines tax payments; resolving carrier and underwriting discrepancies; collecting and recording return premiums; reviewing aged outstanding checks; and supporting cross-training coverage.

The Senior Accountant manages financial accounting tasks, including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and audit support while leading staff accountants.

Develop new business revenue, acquire clients, manage and retain an existing book of business, pursue growth opportunities, resolve client issues, present proposals, coordinate internal resources, train client personnel, monitor competition, and submit regular action reports.

Own data validation lifecycle, design controls and reporting for month-end revenue recognition, assess data flows across AMS/ImageRight/Dynamics, lead cross-functional process improvements, develop executive dashboards and KPIs, map workflows and data governance, and deliver data-driven recommendations to leadership.
