The Environmental Engineer will manage compliance programs, lead audits, and support construction projects to ensure environmental regulations are met.

Develop, implement, and improve environmental compliance programs (wastewater, air, stormwater, RCRA, SPCC). Conduct sampling, data review, incident investigations, permit management, audits, reporting, and regulatory liaison to ensure facility compliance and support projects.

Identify and evaluate engineering solutions to reduce GHG emissions, energy, waste, and water; model environmental performance; support renewable energy and low‑carbon tech implementations; develop technical feasibility and business cases; benchmark against standards; optimize facilities and operations for sustainability; collaborate cross-functionally as a technical SME to implement energy-efficient and circularity solutions.

Lead environmental strategy and compliance for the 787 Program and BSC site. Oversee permitting, reporting, regulatory engagement, and integration of environmental requirements into construction and operations. Mentor staff, drive continuous improvement using data analytics and Lean/Six Sigma, and prepare executive briefings.

Develop and execute environmental test procedures for spacecraft hardware (vibration, thermal, TVAC). Maintain test equipment, author SOPs, troubleshoot failures, implement process improvements and automation to increase throughput and ensure space-grade reliability. Support qualification and acceptance campaigns and enable manufacturing test scalability.

Support and execute environmental (vibration, thermal, TVAC) testing for spacecraft hardware on 2nd shift. Create test procedures, ensure test readiness, troubleshoot test equipment and hardware issues, develop automation and SOPs, drive process improvements for high-rate manufacturing, qualify equipment and processes, and act as the subject matter expert for environmental test operations.

Support environmental permitting, compliance, and field inspections for federal and New York State regulations. Implement SWPPP, stormwater and erosion controls, lead corrective actions, coordinate with contractors and agencies, support ISO 14001 programs, incident investigations, and apply AI tools to improve workflows and data collection.

Lead integration of environmental compliance into global capital projects for fabs and facilities. Drive design for air, water, and waste systems, define global design standards, support permitting and risk mitigation, perform design reviews, and leverage AI analytics to improve environmental engineering outcomes across design, construction, and startup.

Lead development and execution of environmental test procedures for spacecraft hardware, supporting qualification and high-rate production. Maintain and improve thermal, vacuum, and vibration test processes and equipment; troubleshoot failures, implement corrective actions, and develop automation and SOPs to increase throughput and reliability while ensuring safety and export/security compliance.

The Environmental Engineer will develop and manage environmental compliance programs, conduct audits, collaborate on EHS issues, and lead training for staff.

Embed with test operations to develop and enforce safety procedures and hazard analyses for propulsion, fluids, mechanical, and high-energy tests. Serve as on-site safety authority, conduct test readiness reviews, oversee hazardous material handling and compliance (DOT, EPA, OSHA), lead incident investigations, manage emergency response planning, provide safety training, perform exposure monitoring and audits, and interface with regulatory and range safety authorities.

Develop and implement testing processes for satellite hardware, ensuring product reliability and safety while improving manufacturing efficiency.
