Build and maintain a citywide GIS dataset for New York City's legal City Map, convert paper records into digital ArcGIS formats, update spatial data after amendments, prepare sketch maps, process change requests, and coordinate with agencies, partners, and constituents. The role requires careful research, analysis, communication, project coordination, and adherence to strict deadlines.

Provides managerial oversight for a tort claims administration unit. Supervises staff, establishes performance expectations, conducts evaluations, manages staffing and attendance, delivers onboarding and training, enforces policies and procedures, directs daily operations, monitors deadlines and quality metrics, ensures legal and regulatory compliance, communicates with stakeholders, addresses performance deficiencies, and recommends operational improvements.

Provides litigation and general legal support to the General Counsel’s Office; researches and interprets federal, state, and municipal laws; advises staff on New York City administrative and local law; assists with proceedings; monitors legal and legislative issues; collaborates on public policy matters; and manages Freedom of Information Law requests.

The Legislative Representative monitors federal legislation, keeps the Mayor and City agencies informed about relevant issues, and advocates for New York City with Congress and federal officials. The role requires knowledge of the federal legislative process and elected officials, plus experience with legislative processes, public policy, agency operations, or lobbying. The position is based in Washington, DC.

Conduct background investigations to determine candidates’ eligibility for City employment. Responsibilities include reviewing fingerprint and criminal-history information, recording findings in mainframe and investigation-tracking systems, preparing narrative reports, conducting interviews, coordinating with government agencies and private organizations, and completing special investigative assignments.

Leads the Employment Law Unit’s legal strategy and daily operations, supervising attorneys and support staff. Oversees complex employment litigation, disciplinary proceedings, EEO defenses, investigations, regulatory compliance, legal training, and agency coordination. Provides senior leadership with legal advice on discipline, subpoenas, injunctions, settlements, conflicts of interest, and emerging employment-law issues. Litigates high-profile cases and serves as acting executive decision-maker when the Associate General Counsel is unavailable.

Monitors contracted provider performance and compliance, analyzes budgets, spending, invoices, and operational data, and prepares reports with recommendations. Coordinates payment and budget reviews with Finance, Quality Assurance, program leaders, and vendors. Manages contract renewals, amendments, closeouts, audit and FOIL materials, and project schedules. Site visits may be required.

Evaluates disciplinary matters, drafts charges, reviews discovery and evidence, supports investigations, negotiates settlements, and represents the DOT in OATH trials, arbitrations, grievances, appeals, and related litigation. The attorney also researches legal issues, prepares memoranda and briefs, conducts disciplinary and fitness investigations, and prosecutes complaints under Civil Service Law Sections 72 and 75.

Develops and oversees a claims integrity and compliance program for workers’ compensation. Responsibilities include analyzing claims data, detecting and investigating suspected fraud, coordinating investigations, managing surveillance resources, delivering fraud-prevention training, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining fraud reporting mechanisms, liaising with oversight agencies, and leading related improvement initiatives.
