Leads AML and CFT regulatory governance for a banking institution. Responsibilities include interpreting PRC and international regulations, strengthening AML controls, updating policies and SOPs, identifying and remediating control gaps, advising stakeholders, delivering training, supporting KYC and financial crime activities, and coordinating regulatory, system, and process enhancement initiatives.

Reviews private banking client onboarding profiles for AML/KYC compliance, regulatory adequacy, and risk appetite alignment. Performs know-your-customer and client due diligence activities, including enhanced due diligence, identity management, account monitoring, alert reviews, and investigations into potentially fraudulent, terrorist, or suspicious activity. Ensures banking activities comply with anti-money laundering, anti-bribery and corruption, sanctions, data privacy, and other regulatory requirements across applicable jurisdictions.

Manages security documentation and collateral-related transactions, including solicitor instructions, charge documents, title changes, caveats, ownership transfers, and fixed deposit pledges. Maintains secure custody of original legal documents, updates collateral records, tracks outstanding items, follows up with solicitors, prepares management reports, and supports discharge-of-charge and other operational functions to ensure business continuity.

Supervise AML operations, oversee daily alert reviews, conduct quality checks, and approve moderate- and low-risk KYC cases. Guide team members, address performance issues, develop improvement plans, prepare management reporting, and respond to regulator, auditor, and stakeholder requests. The role requires strong AML/CFT regulatory knowledge, analytical ability, communication skills, and people-management experience.

Manage corporate wealth relationships by marketing deposits, cash and trade management solutions, and Global Markets products. Grow the portfolio through client acquisition, cross-selling, relationship deepening, and deposit-growth initiatives. Maintain customer loyalty, ensure sound investment advice and sales practices, oversee KYC responsibilities, and comply with bank policies. Identify market opportunities, implement sales programs, and safeguard customer and bank interests.

Manage relationships with medium-enterprise and corporate clients, provide banking, investment, and wealth management solutions, achieve sales targets, review portfolios, prepare financial proposals, identify opportunities, maintain CRM records, and ensure regulatory compliance. The role requires strong client relationship, communication, presentation, sales, and knowledge of Malaysian financial regulations and banking products.
