Lead global M&A, strategic investments, partnerships, and other complex transactions for Ciena’s Legal Department. Responsibilities include legal due diligence, deal structuring, negotiation, transaction execution, closing, post-close integration, venture capital investments, commercial technology transactions, and process improvement using AI. The role partners with the Chief Strategy Office, legal leadership, executives, cross-functional teams, and external counsel.

Leads customer-facing service delivery projects across the full lifecycle, coordinating scope, schedules, resources, milestones, risks, budgets, and communications. It will expand into commercial licensing strategy, AI governance, and enterprise policy development.

Directs a global cloud networking sales engineering team supporting major customers across the Northwest region. Leads solution engineering, technical sales engagements, customer strategy, forecasting, product introductions, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, operations, services, and product teams. Develops cloud networking solutions spanning software, routing, edge, optical, and data center interconnect technologies. Presents strategy reviews to senior management and travels at least 25%, including occasional international travel.

Reviews analog and digital schematics, identifies power and signal integrity risks, performs board bring-up and prototype validation, and debugs hardware issues in a laboratory environment. Conducts electrical measurements, analyzes waveforms, executes validation procedures, performs root-cause analysis, and recommends corrective actions. Documents schematic reviews and lab findings while collaborating with design teams to improve hardware reliability, manufacturability, and testability.

Develop and validate embedded modem-control software for optical networking products. Responsibilities include designing networking features, troubleshooting and debugging software issues, identifying root causes, delivering fixes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to test next-generation modem technologies. The role involves developing expertise in optical transport and switching technologies while documenting reliable solutions for service-provider networks.

A 24-month Atlanta-based technical sales training program preparing participants for Account Manager or Sales Engineer roles. Participants learn Ciena’s networking products, network design, prospecting, customer engagement, sales cycles, and business development while receiving classroom training, mentoring, and hands-on experience. Relocation to a nationwide market may be required after completion.
