Own the architecture and operation of Coinbase’s end-to-end institutional trading platform, including sequencing, low-latency messaging, order and execution management, venue connectivity, and settlement. Design high-throughput systems, drive reliability and observability, lead incident response, reduce single points of failure, establish engineering standards, mentor teams, and partner with Product, Risk, Security, and Compliance on technical roadmaps.

Architect, build, and operate low-latency market data systems, including feed handlers, normalization, distribution, and exchange connectivity. Design high-throughput infrastructure for real-time trading data, improve reliability and performance, participate in observability, on-call, and incident response, and deliver well-tested features end to end. Partner with engineering, product, and cross-functional stakeholders while leading a lean, high-impact team.

Own infrastructure, deployment, operational tooling, observability, deploy safety, and incident response for latency-sensitive institutional trading systems across cloud and colocated environments. Improve reliability, performance, and developer velocity; reduce single points of failure; establish operational standards and automation; partner with engineering, product, markets, and SRE; and mentor engineers in a 24/7 production environment.

Architect and own Coinbase’s real-time, cross-asset risk and margin engine for institutional trading. Design low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems; ensure reliability, observability, SLOs, and incident response; establish engineering standards; mentor engineers; and partner with Product, Trading, Credit Risk, Security, and Compliance to deliver the technical roadmap. The role requires deep Java, messaging, financial risk, margin, and regulated-systems expertise.

Own performance optimization, reliability, observability, capacity modeling, and automated failover for Coinbase’s blockchain node infrastructure. Diagnose resource bottlenecks, reduce infrastructure costs, define SLOs and SLIs, support protocol upgrades, and improve node performance across distributed systems at scale. Collaborate with protocol integration, wallet, and indexer teams while applying backend programming and systems profiling expertise.
