Support annual audit preparation for alternative investment fund clients by operating Excel and accounting systems, summarizing financial data, reconciling and cleaning records, preparing information for audited financial statements, and partnering with fund accounting teams to ensure accuracy, completeness, and client satisfaction. The role offers practical experience in audit, accounting, financial reporting, and alternative investments.

Balances and reviews transactions for alternative investment accounts with penny-level accuracy, supports accurate new-fund setup, and advances through a dual-control reviewer process. Responds to client inquiries by phone and email to maintain customer satisfaction. Requires a bachelor’s degree, account balancing experience, and at least six months of direct customer support experience. Mutual fund, alternative investment, and transfer agency experience are preferred.

Supports the Tax Accounting Alternative Investments team by gathering and tracking client tax documents, preparing initial tax returns and workpapers, communicating with clients, and distributing tax documents to investors. The internship provides practical experience with tax accounting processes, Excel, UMB systems, deadlines, and client service while increasing responsibility over time.

Supports accounting, bookkeeping, pricing, reconciliations, trade entry, general ledger functions, and financial reporting for alternative investment fund clients. Prepares investor statements, verifies data accuracy, operates Excel and internal accounting systems, and communicates with clients regarding requests and correspondence. The intern will develop progressively complex accounting skills while gaining client contact and opportunities to train and review peers.
