Postdoctoral researcher to develop AI/ML algorithms (GANs/MLLMs) for remote sensing of uranium-containing materials. Maintain and upload laboratory spectral databases, coordinate and assist experimental spectral data collection, collaborate with partner institutions, publish results, and participate in meetings and experiments at Stony Brook. Must obtain DOE Q clearance.

Conduct fundamental and applied research in embodied and agentic AI and robotics (software and hardware), collaborate across interdisciplinary teams, publish results, and support proposals and partnerships to advance robotics for scientific workflows.

Lead the Laboratory's radiological instrumentation and calibration program as technical authority. Oversee instrument selection, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, lifecycle management, and compliance with DOE/NIST/ANSI standards. Supervise technicians, develop procedures, manage calibration facility assets, support audits and emergency response, and ensure program performance and regulatory compliance.

Design and document complex mechanical components and systems for an accelerator using 3D CAD; produce fabrication drawings to ANSI Y14.5; support fabrication, testing, installation and commissioning; lead/coordinate project design efforts and mentor drafting staff; participate in design and safety reviews and collaborate with scientists, engineers, and technical staff.

Develop and deploy ML and HPC workflows, algorithms, and software for DOE scientific applications. Collaborate with domain scientists, scale ML on heterogeneous architectures, ensure correctness and reproducibility, profile and optimize performance, apply software-engineering best practices, and publish and present research. Two-year postdoctoral appointment with possible extension.

Lead electrical design and support for facilities modernization projects: develop layouts, calculations, specifications, and construction documents; review shop drawings; perform site visits; mentor junior engineers; assist project managers with scope, budget, and schedule tracking; ensure code compliance and contractor adherence.

Lead Total Rewards strategy and team to design and execute compensation, benefits, recognition, and well-being programs. Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership, ensure regulatory and DOE compliance, oversee salary review processes and audits, use analytics for program effectiveness, and manage benefits, leave, and absence administration. Advise on market benchmarking, job evaluation, and program enhancements to attract, retain, and engage a diverse research and operations workforce.

Lead strategy, modernization, and operations for enterprise applications and ERP. Manage a mixed team of staff and contractors, prioritize portfolio investments, oversee deployments, ensure reliability and compliance, maintain vendor relationships, and manage budget and master data while collaborating with senior leaders and business stakeholders.

Conduct original research in machine learning, multimodal foundation models, continuous learning, and agentic AI. Collaborate with domain experts on scientific data problems, formulate research directions with mentors, implement and evaluate methods at scale using DOE computing resources, and communicate results to foster interdisciplinary collaborations.

Prepare and maintain financial and management reports and Power BI dashboards; migrate Excel reports to Power BI; support DOE budget submission and reconciliations against PeopleSoft ERP; perform month‑end/year‑end closings; process funding authorizations; document policies and procedures; provide ad hoc analyses and support for budget office operations.
