Provide legal counsel to MUHA hospitals and affiliates: draft, review, and negotiate contracts; interpret federal and state healthcare laws and regulations; advise on clinical, patient-care, and regulatory matters; manage subpoenas, depositions, and legal proceedings; collaborate with executive leadership and Director of Managed Care; ensure compliance with HIPAA, EMTALA, Medicare/Medicaid, and state regulations.

Provide senior-level data engineering for analytics: resolve complex technical issues, build decision-support reports and dashboards, lead projects, prepare and integrate data, coach staff, and ensure high-quality analytics to support academic, research, and healthcare goals.

Create curricula, training materials, and outreach content; manage community and school engagement; coordinate events, fundraising, and grant support; collect program data, conduct quality assurance, and coach facilitators. Requires occasional evenings/weekends and local travel.

Manage procurement, accounting, payroll and HR-related functions for assigned Pediatrics cost centers. Maintain budgets, accruals, and financial records; process transactions in the institution ERP; prepare departmental budgets and financial statements; audit and approve expenditures; maintain personnel funding documents; ensure compliance with institutional, state, and grant guidelines; liaise with HR and affiliates; provide guidance and training on procurement and expense processes.

Lead MUSC's AI incubation: evaluate and prioritize AI concepts, manage Jr. Data Scientists and ML Engineers, oversee rapid prototyping and validation using responsible AI practices, and coordinate transition of validated prototypes to enterprise deployment while driving innovation and patents.

Manage and oversee all university tax and tax-compliance activities including payroll tax, federal/state reporting, reconciliations, and remittances. Serve as subject-matter expert on complex tax issues (international, Section 117, executive compensation), ensure system configuration (Workday), lead audits and notices, drive process improvements, and supervise and develop assigned staff while collaborating across payroll, HR, finance, and benefits.

Design and maintain executive Power BI dashboards and Power Apps, translate clinical and financial data into actionable insights, build frontend data products, educate end-users, partner with backend engineers to build pipelines in Microsoft Fabric, and perform ad-hoc healthcare analytics and modeling to support operational leaders.

Serve as a strategic HR advisor to department leaders, implementing HR strategies across workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, talent development, employee relations, and compliance to improve engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness.
