The Business Development Associate develops strategies to grow the business, maintains customer relationships, conducts market research, and creates marketing materials.

Build, maintain, and improve financial models and analytical tools for stop-loss, reinsurance, and captive programs. Translate and organize data, automate Excel-based tools (including AI), validate model outputs, and maintain rating templates. Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, finance, and sales to gather requirements, support ad hoc analyses, and document models and processes.

Supports insurance brokers with new business and renewal submissions, account management, policy and invoice review, market submissions, client retention, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, reporting, and coordination with internal teams. Builds broker relationships, assists with proposals and presentations, maintains accurate account documentation, resolves invoicing issues, and supports portfolio growth.

Manage the policy binding process including entering underwriting data, issuing policies and endorsements, coordinating between underwriters and brokers, collecting client information, tracking cancellations/renewals, and preparing binding performance and compliance reports. Serve as backup for underwriting staff and ensure adherence to regulatory and carrier requirements.

Analyze catastrophe risks (earthquakes, hurricanes, floods), build and maintain catastrophe risk models, use catastrophe modeling software, collaborate with underwriters and actuaries, monitor industry and regulatory trends, prepare reports for senior management, and participate in cross-functional teams to improve risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

Manage day-to-day servicing and renewal lifecycle for commercial insurance accounts, including policy submissions, endorsements, binders, renewals, and client support. Coordinate with brokers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure accurate policy administration, maintain account records, perform coverage analysis, and use brokerage systems and Excel for reporting and data management. Participate in training and collaborate with senior team members to improve processes and client service.

Support middle market operations by analyzing workflows, translating business needs into requirements, leading UAT and defect resolution, optimizing systems, documenting SOPs, coordinating cross-functional teams, and reporting operational metrics to drive consistency and scalability.

Manage day-to-day operations of assigned group captive insurance programs, own client and broker relationships, prepare board materials and financial reports, drive renewals and business development, monitor risk and performance metrics, coordinate with underwriting/claims/compliance, and mentor junior staff to support strategic captive leadership.

Oversee client relationships, manage account lifecycle, ensure compliance, drive process improvements, mentor staff, and monitor team performance in a fast-paced environment.

Support brokers in managing and growing a specialized wholesale commercial insurance portfolio. Handle new business and renewals, prepare submissions and proposals, review policies/endorsements/invoices, ensure compliance, maintain account data, analyze portfolio trends, collaborate with carriers and internal teams, and deliver high-quality client service to drive retention and growth.
