Develop and sustain automated manufacturing solutions using robotics, PLCs, sensors, pneumatics, and related controls technologies. Build proof-of-concept prototypes, architect software and system concepts, program software and electrical capabilities, create technical documentation, and perform software verification and validation testing in collaboration with production and automation teams.

Mechanical engineering intern supporting product development across the full lifecycle. Responsibilities include developing mechanical concepts, creating 3D models and 2D drawings, building and assembling prototypes, conducting basic material and prototype tests, recording and presenting results, and performing preliminary tolerance stack-up, thermal, and structural analyses under senior engineer guidance.

Supports the design, prototyping, documentation, and sustainment of automated manufacturing solutions, including robotic systems, conveying equipment, mechatronic assemblies, fixtures, and flexible workstations. Collaborates cross-functionally to identify automation opportunities, participates in product design reviews, develops proof-of-concept prototypes, and creates models, drawings, and assembly instructions. The intern also builds knowledge of mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing engineering principles.

Supports finance at a manufacturing site through sales price verification, month-end activities, journal entries, margin analysis, forecasting, product costing, pricing, balance sheet review, and financial risk avoidance.
