Performs analog engineering design and product development or commercialization services. Develops customer-focused engineering concepts, executes Plexus engineering processes, applies discipline-specific knowledge across the product value stream, conducts design analysis and verification, uses appropriate engineering tools, and prepares project documentation according to quality and change-management procedures.

Provides regional technical leadership and subject-matter expertise in hand soldering and rework of high-reliability PCBAs. Supports daily IT operations by resolving service desk tickets, documenting solutions, monitoring systems and business services, analyzing performance metrics, updating system and disaster recovery documentation, assisting with application development, and maintaining software and hardware. The intern also follows cybersecurity policies, protects data and systems, identifies vulnerabilities, and reports potential incidents.

Supports manufacturing quality by resolving proactive and reactive quality issues, conducting root-cause and corrective actions, applying statistical analysis through DMAIC, supporting customer product introductions under APQP, and monitoring processes through audits and metrics. The internship provides onsite mentorship and hands-on quality engineering experience.

Supports manufacturing process development for surface mount and electromechanical assembly. Responsibilities include process improvement, labor impact analysis, engineering change review, manufacturing readiness, design-for-manufacturing, material format recommendations, facility planning, validation, safety, ergonomics, and customer support. The intern collaborates with factory, site, corporate, manufacturing, and engineering teams while developing repeatable processes that improve safety, yield, and efficiency.

Support user-centered and industrial design efforts throughout product development. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, product, and quality engineers; contribute to brainstorming, project reviews, and client meetings; and assist with user research and testing. Develop design solutions, communicate and present ideas, create sketches and forms, and support prototyping and rendering activities across customer projects.

Supports warehouse inventory control, material receipts, manufacturing-floor deployment, outbound shipments, procurement, and inventory management. Oversees administrative activities, warehouse metrics, audits, quality compliance, and escalated issues. Leads teams and helps improve processes using Lean principles while identifying cost-saving and lead-time reduction opportunities. The intern must pursue a relevant bachelor's degree throughout the internship and understand Lean and Six Sigma concepts.
