The News Producer will develop compelling newscasts, create content for various platforms, and handle breaking news situations effectively.

Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of studio, editing, field, and transmission systems. Conduct audio/video quality control, support live events, document issues, implement upgrades, and assist with system integrations, software/firmware updates, and building-related technical needs. Provide on-call and after-hours support.

Direct live and pre-recorded newscasts, sports, specials and breaking news using Ross Overdrive and switchers; operate master control automation (Crispin, Bitcentral, Harmonic servers), perform QC/ingest, monitor broadcast streams and transmitters, maintain studio/master control equipment, and coordinate with newsroom personnel while adhering to FCC procedures.

Produce and report digital-first and on-air news stories in English and Spanish. Generate enterprise story ideas, handle live breaking news coverage, and publish content for FOX5 and Vegas.Hoy.com. Collaborate with newsroom teams to support local coverage and audience engagement.

Produce daily field news stories: shoot, write, edit, and present content across TV and digital platforms. Anchor live afternoon traffic reports, adapt to breaking traffic incidents, and maintain polished on-air presence while engaging audiences across social channels.

Produce, write, edit and make editorial decisions for one or more daily newscasts. Collaborate with anchors, MMJs, TMPs and digital staff, incorporate breaking news, monitor newswires and social media, ensure journalistic and legal standards, and work flexible shifts.

Produce and post news stories, video, and photos across WSMV digital and social platforms. Coordinate live streams, promote content on social channels, monitor news sources for stories, and support television producers under deadline pressure.

Shoot and edit compelling video for broadcast and digital platforms, conduct interviews, produce live shots for breaking news, and operate ENG/SNG/Satellite vehicles. Work under deadline in a fast-paced newsroom, including nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.

Produce and edit short-form and vertical video and graphic content for digital platforms; manage daily social strategies for YouTube, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram; plan and run live streams; write AP-style digital stories; use analytics to optimize content; cultivate local sources and beats; reformat newsroom content for digital reach; collaborate with reporters and producers; present on-camera; meet daily deadlines while upholding journalistic ethics.

Paid 10-week, 25-hour/week immersive internship across production, reporting, weather, and media sales. Interns handle real assignments (on-air and digital), create social and streaming content, work with experienced staff, build a professional portfolio, and may be considered for full-time roles across Gray Media stations.
