Designs and develops vehicle electrical systems, wiring harnesses, schematics, and assemblies. Responsibilities include electrical packaging, harness print release, BOM creation, DFMEA and DVP support, supplier inspections, vehicle builds, validation testing, and troubleshooting using CAN tools, DVMs, and oscilloscopes. The engineer collaborates with customers, suppliers, assembly teams, and program stakeholders to diagnose electrical issues and support vehicle bring-up.

Designs and develops vehicle electrical systems, including wire harness architecture, connectors, sensors, power distribution, and schematics. Leads compatibility reviews, design verification, DFMEA, failure-mode mitigation, and print sign-offs. Collaborates with program teams, suppliers, analysis groups, and assembly partners while providing technical guidance to engineers. Requires electrical or mechanical engineering expertise, vehicle electronics experience, CAN knowledge, and wire harness design skills.

Manage multiple concurrent programs from quoting through completion, overseeing budgets, materials, production, schedules, quality, risks, scope changes, documentation, and customer relationships. Lead and mentor cross-functional program teams, coordinate subcontractors, monitor milestones and completion status, prepare reports and presentations, and ensure customer and company standards are met. The role also manages continuous improvement and day-to-day build operations.

Perform FEA-based NVH and durability analyses across automotive, aerospace, and entertainment projects. Build and run linear, nonlinear, and dynamic CAE models, postprocess results, produce engineering reports, automate workflows with Python, and manage analysis files per company policies.

Manage multiple concurrent engineering and product development projects from inception to completion, overseeing budgets, schedules, quality, materials, subcontractors, documentation, customer relationships, and team coaching while reporting status and driving continuous improvement.

Oversee multiple concurrent programs from quote to completion for contract manufacturing. Manage finances, schedules, materials, quality, and customer relationships. Lead and mentor cross-functional program teams, handle scope changes, document control, and continuous improvement. Prepare reports and monitor program status and percent complete daily.

Oversee on-board diagnostic system definition, implementation, calibration, validation, and certification for powertrain development programs. Interpret OBD regulations, assess diagnostic boundaries, develop functional requirements and test plans, analyze dyno and on-road data, track program milestones, communicate technical results, and resolve issues. The role also mentors calibration staff and collaborates with regulatory teams, customers, and engineering groups to ensure compliant, robust diagnostic systems.

Develops and maintains quality plans, control plans, inspection procedures, and customer requirements for manufacturing programs. Supports ISO 9001 compliance, APQP, PPAP submissions, supplier quality, inspections, audits, calibration, MRB and RTV processes. Investigates quality issues, performs corrective and continual improvement activities, tracks QOS metrics, and communicates with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams. This is an on-site role in Livonia, Michigan.

Develop and validate powertrain calibrations for automotive products using OEM software and control algorithms in laboratory, dynamometer, and on-road environments. Analyze test results, conduct vehicle evaluations and climate/altitude testing, resolve technical issues, support production release, prepare technical reports and presentations, and mentor junior engineers.

Lead CAD quality reviews, CAD-to-BOM alignment, digital compatibility and design peer reviews. Act as liaison between Engineering, Design, Operations, and Programs to ensure release readiness, reduce rework, and drive CAD process improvements and documentation.
