Conduct mechanical stress analysis and testing to safeguard the integrity, reliability, and airworthiness of Rolls-Royce engine components and subsystems. Develop, verify, and validate numerical models; assess static, dynamic, fatigue, fracture, creep, corrosion, and thermo-mechanical behavior; interpret experimental results; resolve complex engineering problems; and own technical work packages within multidisciplinary Defence programme teams.

Develop digital technologies, software applications, modelling capabilities, and engineering design solutions for product introduction. Collaborate with Engineering, Digital/IT architects, end users, and multidisciplinary global teams to identify opportunities, build tools and processes, and deploy digital capabilities. Provides financial analysis and business partnering support to Procurement, including month-end reporting, forecasting, budgeting, governance, supplier financial risk analysis, capital funding, and engineering cost recovery. Maintains accountability for P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, performs reconciliations, supports supplier tooling schemes, and helps recover third-party engineering costs.

Leads technical delivery for naval gas turbine programmes across the full product lifecycle. Responsibilities include managing customer and shipyard requirements, defining technical work programmes, ensuring integration with wider programme activities, directing engineering change management, supporting product improvement, and maintaining safe engine operation. The role serves as the primary technical interface with customers, operators, and programme integrators while guiding engineering teams and sustaining technical capability.

Develops data models, governance policies, quality assurance processes, access controls, compliance practices, and workflow improvements across defence programmes. The role identifies data anomalies, supports data projects, trains employees on governance principles, and collaborates with IT, security, cyber, export control, and business stakeholders. Regular international travel to Japan and Italy is required, along with UK Security Check clearance eligibility.

Design Safety Engineers assess design concepts, failure modes, hazards, risks, and safety impacts for military aero-engine systems. Responsibilities include developing hazard mitigation strategies, performing FMECA and deterministic/probabilistic analyses, evaluating human-system risks, identifying critical parts, producing safety cases, and operating FRACAS. Roles range from graduate to experienced specialist levels and require collaboration with design teams to ensure applicable safety and reliability standards are met.

Develop and validate aerothermal capability across engine lifecycle from concept through production and fleet support. Define requirements, perform CFD and analytical gas-path analysis, plan tests, calibrate models, quantify uncertainties, integrate across teams, manage data and documentation, and drive capability improvements and troubleshooting.
