The Associate Director manages a portfolio of major gift prospects, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding alumni and friends capable of gifts from $100,000 to $4.9 million. The role develops donor engagement strategies, manages fundraising pipelines, coordinates with university stakeholders, achieves solicitation and revenue goals, prepares communications and reports, and represents the College at alumni events. Regular travel throughout an assigned geographic region, including outside Illinois, is required.

Leads strategic planning, campaign management, and executive office coordination across Advancement. Translates executive priorities into integrated plans, governance structures, timelines, accountability, and measurable outcomes. Manages project managers, aligns cross-functional stakeholders, resolves complex organizational issues, oversees campaign governance and budgets, and develops executive and board materials. Leads strategic planning processes, synthesizes performance insights, supports fundraising initiatives, and improves operational systems, processes, and decision-making infrastructure.

Designs and delivers online, hybrid, and in-person learning experiences for adult professional learners. Manages course production, publishing, maintenance, and quality assurance in Canvas; collaborates with instructors and subject matter experts; analyzes evaluations and learner feedback; ensures accessibility and instructional quality; documents workflows and standards; troubleshoots delivery issues; and evaluates LMS features and educational technologies to improve learner engagement and operational efficiency.

Provides career counseling, coaching, programming, and advising to law students and alumni pursuing judicial clerkships and internships. Supports clerkship program strategy, faculty committee reporting, data analysis, resource development, alumni outreach, market research, and career services operations. Delivers workshops, lectures, events, and individual coaching while maintaining records and collaborating with judges, faculty, staff, students, and external organizations.

Leads the strategy, design, delivery, and evaluation of employee learning programs focused on fundraising, alumni relations, campaign education, systems, and data. Develops adult-learning curricula, e-learning, videos, manuals, assessments, and scalable training resources. Delivers programs through in-person, virtual, blended, and self-paced formats; manages logistics, stakeholders, consultants, and learning technologies. Measures outcomes, updates content, supports responsible AI adoption, and recommends improvements based on participant feedback, organizational needs, and performance data.

Coordinates clinical schedules in Qgenda, analyzes schedule optimization opportunities, and supports departmental administrative operations. Responsibilities include faculty onboarding, events, visitor logistics, communications, website and newsletter updates, surveys, training follow-up, office and asset management, alumni relations, and liaison work with university departments. The role also supports clinical education initiatives, process improvement, and special projects in a complex academic medical environment.

Provides Tier 1 support to faculty, staff, applicants, and vendors through phone, chat, email, and ServiceNow. Resolves inquiries involving finance, HR, payroll, grants, and administrative systems; navigates Oracle Cloud and Workday; documents interactions; escalates complex issues; supports routine reporting, testing, training feedback, and service desk operations.

Writes and edits high-level fundraising communications for prospective donors, foundations, corporations, and volunteers. Develops proposals, correspondence, stewardship reports, presentations, and scientific or technical content. Researches and verifies information, tailors messages to audiences, coordinates with internal teams, facilitates donor-related meetings, and project-manages deliverables, timelines, and team activity. Also contributes to communications strategy, prospect analysis, and occasional budget analysis.

Administers four biomedical training grants, including trainee appointments, terminations, onboarding, funding allocations, compliance, reporting, and academic progress tracking. Coordinates faculty, student, and committee activities; manages meetings, events, retreats, websites, expenses, purchasing, and grant data. Supports NIH training grant applications, progress reports, renewals, and program statistics while maintaining accurate records and financial tracking.

Leads the Chicago Quantum Exchange’s growth strategy, research and commercialization ecosystem, workforce initiatives, partnerships, revenue programs, funding efforts, communications, and global profile. Manages multiple teams, budgets, strategic plans, and data-driven performance tools while collaborating with universities, national laboratories, government, industry, philanthropic organizations, and other stakeholders. Serves as a senior liaison across the University of Chicago and external organizations.
