The Editor will acquire, edit, and manage adult fiction and young adult authors, focusing on romance publishing. Responsibilities include long-range planning, manuscript solicitation, market analysis, and collaboration with marketing and sales divisions.

Lead creative execution for custom and proprietary book projects: design covers and interiors, manage projects from kickoff to final files, mentor junior designers, coordinate cross-functional teams, troubleshoot pre-press/print issues, and improve workflows to deliver high-quality print and digital products on schedule.

Acquire and develop children's, middle grade, and YA titles; build and manage a publishing list; cultivate agent and author relationships; negotiate deals; provide developmental editing and market positioning; partner with cross-functional teams to launch titles and contribute to program growth.

Lead art direction and design for romance imprints, creating market-driven book covers from concept to production. Collaborate with editorial, marketing, and sales, recruit illustrators/designers, manage approvals, optimize workflows, and maintain organized archives while balancing creative excellence with budget and timeline constraints.

Lead and grow Sourcebooks Kids events program: plan and execute author events from signings to festivals, manage logistics and travel, drive PR and social strategy, report on attendance and sales (Bookscan POS), and develop new initiatives such as school visit programming while building bookseller and media partnerships.
