Leads the build, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and production transition of optical, vacuum, mechanical, RF, electronic, and cable subsystems for neutral-atom quantum computers. Establishes repeatable manufacturing processes, work instructions, fixtures, test procedures, quality records, and acceptance criteria. Manages and mentors multidisciplinary engineering and technician teams while partnering with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality to resolve design, process, material, and workmanship issues.

Lead manufacturing engineering and quality for repeatable neutral-atom quantum-computer builds. Establish DfX practices, process controls, tooling, fixtures, inspection methods, documentation, and training. Qualify optical, mechanical, vacuum, bonding, assembly, and electronic production methods; lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions; and manage technical teams supporting build readiness, reliability, serviceability, and reduced rework.

Develop AI-assisted engineering practices and shared tooling for physicists and engineers. Establish standards for LLM use in embedded C++, Rust, RTOS, and kernel development, while measuring productivity, quality, safety, and reliability. Influence AI tooling architecture and workflows across a multidisciplinary engineering organization, supporting experiment analysis, optics, PCB and FPGA design, quantum control software, and safe AI operation in quantum processors.

Integrate and align optical, laser, mechanical, and electronic subsystems for neutral-atom quantum computers. Perform system-level checkout, optical measurements, fiber and RF connections, fault isolation, safety checks, and controlled configuration management. Prepare handoff documentation for Quantum Engineers, support first-of-a-kind integrations and testing, and improve alignment procedures and build instructions with Manufacturing Engineering.

Lead Atom Computing’s integrated photonics program, owning its strategy, platform decisions, and PIC development roadmap. Direct photonic circuit design, fabrication, testing, packaging, and integration into quantum computers. Build and manage an internal photonics team, establish technical capabilities, oversee foundry and supplier partnerships, evaluate emerging technologies, and guide multi-party programs. The role requires recognized expertise in integrated photonics, team leadership, technical judgment, and extensive post-PhD experience.

Designs, deploys, and maintains on-premises and cloud IT infrastructure supporting research and corporate systems. Responsibilities include MDM, SSO, IAM, provisioning, patching, operating system and hardware management, monitoring, backups, DNS, DHCP, security updates, ticket support, and infrastructure performance optimization. The engineer collaborates with DevOps, control systems, physicists, developers, and other teams while managing multiple technical projects.

Leads functional verification for quantum-computing ASICs from block through chip and silicon bring-up. Owns verification plans, schedules, test development, regressions, coverage, post-layout gate-level simulation, DFT verification, timing debug, and tapeout signoff. Develops Python and SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, mentors engineers, directs contractors, resolves cross-functional issues, and supports hardware validation and lab debugging.

Design and build scientific hardware and hardware/software control interfaces for scalable neutral-atom quantum computers. Apply atomic physics, quantum control, cold-atom trapping, and quantum characterization techniques; generate intellectual property; communicate findings through publications and presentations; and collaborate with experimental physicists, hardware engineers, and software engineers.

Leads operation and upgrades of neutral atom quantum computing hardware and a portfolio of advanced research programs. Defines requirements, priorities, execution plans, metrics, communications, and risk-management strategies across scientific, engineering, and business teams. Advises the technology roadmap, balances technical resources, supports grant applications, and collaborates with external partners to deliver future quantum computing capabilities.

Build, align, test, and verify optical breadboards and laser-delivery assemblies for neutral-atom quantum computers. Responsibilities include installing optical components, performing beam, polarization, power, wavefront, and fiber-coupling measurements, troubleshooting alignment issues, maintaining cleanliness and safety, documenting verification records, and improving repeat-build instructions with manufacturing engineering. The role requires 5+ years of hands-on optical assembly and alignment experience, with quantum optics or precision instrumentation experience preferred.
