Own product strategy and execution for Substack’s payments and monetization experiences, including gifting, retention, renewals, checkout, commerce, and future advertising opportunities. Partner with engineering, design, data, growth, and creator teams to identify opportunities, develop roadmaps, prototype solutions, run experiments, analyze results, and deliver polished payment and subscription products that improve creator earnings and customer outcomes.

Lead integrated communications for Substack’s audio and video offerings across editorial, social, publicity, events, and creator channels. Lead and scale Substack’s People function, overseeing recruiting, onboarding, compensation, benefits, performance management, learning and development, employee experience, compliance, and employee relations. Advise executives on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent strategy; coach managers; build People systems and programs; use analytics to guide decisions; and develop a high-performing People team.

Own the operational backbone of Substack’s brand sponsorship marketplace, including campaign trafficking, QA, launches, monitoring, order management, reporting, billing handoffs, integrations, and third-party measurement. Serve as a technical solutions lead for brands and agencies, collaborate with design and engineering on tooling, create scalable workflows and documentation, and support AI-first outbound and onboarding initiatives.

Lead product strategy and execution for Substack Sponsorships, building advertiser and publisher tools, sponsorship formats, marketplace infrastructure, campaign measurement, and monetization experiences. Partner cross-functionally to launch products, improve campaign delivery and payouts, grow adoption and revenue, and balance commercial opportunities with reader trust, privacy, and subscription retention.

Own product analytics for Substack by improving understanding of users, growth, and product performance. Partner with product managers, leadership, and engineers to define metrics, guide strategy, improve data infrastructure, and communicate insights. Build dashboards and analyses using advanced SQL and BI tools, and apply experimentation and product growth frameworks such as retention curves, cohort analysis, and growth accounting.

Build and ship web applications, creator-focused platform features, customizable websites, reusable tools, audience segmentation and analytics capabilities. Collaborate with designers, engineers, product partners, and external customers throughout product discovery, implementation, and deployment. Own meaningful features that help publishers grow audiences, express their identities, and operate their businesses.

Build frontend, backend, and occasional mobile features for creator sponsorships. Own projects autonomously from product research and concept through implementation and deployment, collaborating with designers, writers, support staff, leadership, and sponsorship partners. Work across TypeScript, Node.js, Express, React, and PostgreSQL while contributing to product direction and delivering high-quality production experiences.

Lead Substack’s global events strategy and execution, from flagship brand moments to creator gatherings and sponsored events. Build a scalable events engine, manage budgets and ROI measurement, develop partnerships with agencies and vendors, and lead event teams across domestic and international markets. Translate brand narratives into impactful experiences that grow creator and subscriber engagement while maintaining operational excellence and authenticity.
