The Underwriting Support Specialist plays a key role in providing basic underwriting support responsibilities and ensuring the smooth handling of day-to-day client servicing for Markel. Responsibilities include managing workflow, serving as a point of contact for agents/brokers, maintaining accurate documentation, and participating in problem-solving activities to improve processes.

As an Underwriting Trainee, you will develop skills to assess risks, ensure profitability, and engage with colleagues across various departments. You'll learn to execute underwriting guidelines and will be exposed to data analytics and digital technologies. Successful completion of the program leads to an underwriting position.

Participate in financial planning and analysis activities, develop financial models, provide decision support through analysis, analyze competitor and industry data, support budgeting and forecasting processes, mentor other analysts, and drive continuous process improvement.
