Learn to assign, produce, write, edit, and report multimedia news stories for radio and digital audiences. Responsibilities include pitching ideas, developing original content, interviewing sources, editing audio, collaborating with reporters and editors, and working under deadlines. The intern will build news judgment, writing, copyediting, technical, and interpersonal skills while potentially gaining voice and video production experience.

Supports the Fundraising Systems & Operations team through filing, SharePoint organization, supervised database data entry, return-mail and survey processing, data cleanup, and matching gift processing. Requires undergraduate or graduate study, recent graduation eligibility, and exposure to Microsoft 365.

Produces, shoots, and edits digital-first video for podcasts, YouTube, social media, and WHYY platforms. Leads field and studio productions, manages Fresh Air video workflows, coordinates schedules and approvals, ensures technical and visual quality, and analyzes platform metrics to improve audience engagement. The role also supports NPR, PBS Digital Studios, and other content initiatives.

Supports television producers with field and studio shoots, production assistance, release forms, footage logging, transcription, research, editing, teleprompter operation, guest reception, story pitching, and copywriting. The internship provides exposure to pre-production, production, post-production, interview development, program structure, offline editing, and professional production etiquette.

Optimize stories for audience engagement, manage feeds and app alerts, create audio/video/photo/text packages on tight deadlines, support newsletters and partner sharing, and work nights/weekends as newsroom scheduling requires.

Manages a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects through identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Develops personalized engagement and fundraising strategies, conducts donor meetings, prepares proposals, maintains CRM records, tracks fundraising results, collaborates with leadership and development teams, and represents WPSU at donor and community events while following ethical fundraising practices.

Develops and manages business, nonprofit, and community underwriting relationships to generate sponsorship revenue. Responsibilities include prospecting, client meetings, proposal and package development, negotiating agreements, renewals, account stewardship, and coordinating fulfillment across broadcast, digital, television, and events. The role also tracks pipeline and revenue activity in CRM systems, supports FCC-compliant underwriting copy, prepares reports, and represents the station at community and networking events.

Lead and supervise reporters and editors to produce daily and breaking news across audio, video and digital platforms. Assign and edit stories, fact-check, plan special coverage, train staff, conduct performance reviews, coordinate cross-team content, and be available for nights and weekends as needed.
