The Sr Software Engineer, Backend will develop and optimize backend services, mentor engineers, and lead technical discussions in building scalable systems for Mercari's marketplace platform.

Lead risk-based internal audits and SOX compliance for Mercari US, including ITGC testing, enterprise risk assessments, and remediation tracking. Develop audit objectives, execute testing, prepare reports, and present findings to management. Coordinate with external auditors and partner with business leaders to strengthen controls and recommend process improvements and automation.
