The Staff Applied Scientist will lead the evaluation strategy for AI agent integrations at Datadog, defining metrics and building datasets for quality improvements in agent performance through applied research and technical leadership.

Serve as a technical expert for Datadog’s Service Management products, advising enterprise customers and Field teams on incident response, on-call, event correlation, workflow automation, and App Builder architectures. Build proofs of concept, small-scale deployments, reusable technical collateral, and best practices. Provide product feedback based on customer engagements to influence roadmap development. The role requires engineering expertise, production incident response or automation experience, observability knowledge, coding ability, consultative customer skills, and travel up to 40%.

Manages accounts receivable collections for an assigned book of business, analyzes payment patterns and aging reports, resolves billing disputes, handles customer inquiries through Zendesk, and develops client relationships to drive timely payment. The role also supports audits, compliance projects, and mentorship of junior team members while collaborating with Revenue, Sales, and Customer Success.

Drive product attachment and adoption for large enterprise customers through relationship management, onboarding, usage analysis, renewal risk mitigation, and cross-functional collaboration. Act as trusted advisor aligning customers' technical and business objectives to Datadog's observability and security offerings.

Partners with account executives to lead technical sales strategies, conduct customer discovery, deliver product demos and workshops, and guide enterprise technical evaluations from scoping through adoption. Translates business needs into Datadog solutions, develops customer champions, manages multiple opportunities, documents deal activity, provides product feedback, and collaborates with Product, Support, and go-to-market teams to resolve technical blockers.

Partners with account executives to shape technical sales strategies, lead customer discovery, deliver product demonstrations, and manage proof-of-value evaluations. Translates customer goals into Datadog solutions, develops technical champions, supports consensus-building, and communicates feedback to product and engineering teams. Maintains accurate opportunity records and collaborates with Product, Support, and go-to-market teams to resolve technical blockers and drive adoption.
