As a Perception Intern, you'll work on ML model experimentation, evaluate and integrate solutions for perception challenges in drone delivery, collaborating with the Droid Perception team.

Design, build, and field-test prototype data collection rigs; create 2D/3D CAD parts and assemblies; develop embedded software to ingest sensor data; collaborate cross-functionally to integrate sensors and iterate on prototypes for perception improvements.

Contribute to system-level validation of Zipline's Zip, Droid, and Dock by building and executing automated HIL and flight tests, developing test pipelines and scripts, diagnosing hardware/software issues, and collaborating with cross-functional engineers to improve reliability and safety of the autonomous logistics system.

Own end-to-end mechanical architecture and detailed design for a customer-facing, unattended package-loading product. Drive requirements, CAD/FEA, GD&T, tolerance stacks, prototyping, validation, production release, supplier qualification, and field-failure investigations to meet reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability targets. Mentor engineers and collaborate across disciplines to reduce downtime and improve fleet uptime.

Own and deliver end-to-end embedded subsystems for long-range aircraft: firmware, drivers, runtime, and monitoring. Implement flight- and safety-critical code on microcontrollers (bare-metal/RTOS), lead validation (HIL/bench/field), build deterministic test and telemetry tooling, and triage high-severity field incidents until fleet metrics confirm resolution.

Manage financial onboarding for merchants and partners, prepare and validate weekly/monthly partner payouts, support billing system implementations and UAT, investigate disputes and systemic billing errors, perform month-end journal entries and reconciliations, automate billing processes, and maintain stakeholder relationships.

Lead mechanical and electromechanical validation for Dropbox assemblies: develop test plans, design and build fixtures and automated rigs, instrument systems, run environmental and high-cycle tests, analyze data, investigate failures, correlate lab and field performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to verify reliability and readiness for deployment.
