Leads Houston Zoo’s marketing, promotions, events marketing, and consumer insights functions. Develops integrated campaigns to increase attendance, revenue, membership, engagement, and audience growth. Oversees marketing plans, budgets, channels, consumer research, analytics, dashboards, and performance measurement. Builds and mentors a high-performing team, improves operational processes, and advises leadership on audience trends and marketing opportunities. Partners across departments, agencies, vendors, sponsors, and community organizations to strengthen brand positioning and advance organizational goals.

Provides membership sales and guest service through phone, email, and in-person interactions. Processes payments, registrations, reservations, and database updates while maintaining accurate financial and membership records. Resolves guest issues, communicates program information, identifies service trends, and supports operational priorities. Requires flexibility to work weekends, holidays, evenings, special events, outdoors, and in varying weather conditions.

Identifies, researches, and analyzes donor prospects for cultivation and solicitation. Partners with development officers on prospect strategy, prepares donor profiles and ratings, manages prospect pipelines, and maintains CRM records. Produces mailing, appeal, event, and fundraising reports; fulfills ad hoc data requests; performs data imports and updates; and supports fundraising and stewardship activities while maintaining donor confidentiality.

Provides administrative and logistical support for the Conservation and Education division. Coordinates program registration, guest inquiries, scheduling, facilities, meetings, communications, purchasing, invoices, supplies, webpages, and participant data. Creates dashboards, presentations, infographics, and reports to support decision-making. Serves as a professional point of contact for visitors, participants, volunteers, and staff while maintaining confidential information and supporting efficient day-to-day operations.

Leads the Houston Zoo’s media relations, public affairs, internal communications, reputation management, and crisis communications. Develops strategic messaging, oversees earned media and content, strengthens stakeholder engagement, and ensures consistent communication across audiences. Partners with departments on campaigns, events, and organizational initiatives while leading and developing the communications team. Measures communication effectiveness and continuously improves programs aligned with the Zoo’s mission, brand, and conservation priorities.
