The Chief Program Officer will provide strategic and operational leadership across Catholic Charities’ human services ministries. Responsibilities include overseeing programs and senior staff, aligning operations with Catholic mission and strategy, improving service delivery, supporting fundraising and financial sustainability, developing leaders, managing partnerships, responding to operational challenges, and representing the organization. The role reports to the CEO and requires frequent travel among Long Island locations.

Process and maintain employee payroll records, including personnel and compensation changes. Prepare payroll reports, W-2s, journal entries, and reconciliations while supporting audits and compliance reviews. Identify process improvements, resolve discrepancies, and collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate payroll and accounting data.

Processes invoices, expense reports, Medicaid billing logs, cash receipts, and general ledger entries. Reconciles bank transfers, Social Security deposits, accounts receivable, and purchase-of-other-services schedules. Maintains accurate records, performs account analysis, and supports timely financial operations in a deadline-driven environment.

Oversee the agency’s compliance program, HIPAA privacy responsibilities, investigations, regulatory reviews, corrective actions, and risk-based internal audits. Lead financial reviews and the Federal Single Audit, strengthen internal controls and fraud prevention, and present findings to executive leadership, committees, and the Board. The role requires strong analytical judgment, confidentiality, regulatory knowledge, and commitment to Catholic Charities’ mission.

Provides administrative support to the Human Resources Director and department, including correspondence, reports, research, mail distribution, payroll and requisition coordination, invoice processing, insurance documentation, event support, recruiting events, and reception coverage. This is a part-time role requiring strong organization, interpersonal skills, adaptability, and Microsoft Office proficiency.
