Summer internship program offering hands-on project experience across applications, electrical, mechanical, research and development, human resources, information services, and marketing. Interns manage assigned projects, collaborate with mentors and managers, and present their contributions at the program’s conclusion. Responsibilities vary by department and may include engineering design, PLC/HMI/SCADA programming, IT support, recruiting, marketing events, wastewater research, data analysis, and pilot studies. The role is onsite in Loves Park, Illinois, requires 40 hours weekly, and may lead to part-time remote work during the academic year.

The Electrical Designer reviews customer submittal drawings, creates and releases electrical drawings and parts, develops bills of material and operation and maintenance manual content, and ensures equipment specification compliance. The role issues engineering change orders, coordinates with Mechanical Engineering, works with vendors on components and quotes, and provides technical support to customers, sales, customer service, and manufacturing. This is an onsite position in Loves Park, Illinois.

Develops and tests project-specific PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs for water and wastewater treatment systems. Prepares customer submittals, supports internal and external customers, evaluates electrical components, maintains programming and drawing standards, troubleshoots field issues, reviews project cost variances, and assists with application engineering, proposals, and customer presentations.

Evaluates water and wastewater treatment design requests, sizes equipment, develops preliminary process designs, estimates mechanical and electrical costs, and performs bench-scale and pilot testing. Collects and analyzes pilot data, prepares reports, graphs, and statistical evaluations, and provides technical support to consulting engineers, plant operators, sales teams, and customers. The onsite role requires up to 30% travel for technical presentations and customer assistance.

Designs and recommends aeration and mixing equipment for water and wastewater treatment applications. Reviews process requirements, prepares preliminary process design reports, estimates equipment costs, supports equipment testing, and produces technical reports. Provides technical assistance to consulting engineers, plant operators, sales teams, and customers. The role also supports installations, applications, sales efforts, and customer-site testing, with travel up to 10%.
