Manufacturing Engineer I develops and improves processes, equipment, tooling, and instructions across the product life cycle. Responsibilities include DFM feedback, cost and lead-time estimates, quoting, process development, design of experiments, new product and process launches, production troubleshooting, continuous improvement, change control, customer support, and audit compliance. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams and supports aerospace, defense, medical, and industrial manufacturing operations.

Develops and implements manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, cost estimates, and work instructions across the product lifecycle. Leads new product and process development, design-for-manufacturability reviews, experimentation, continuous improvement, change control, audits, and production problem resolution. Collaborates with engineering, quality, sales, purchasing, planning, suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams to ensure safe, compliant, cost-effective production.

Supports fiber optic manufacturing by developing process instructions, tools, validations, and continuous-improvement solutions. Troubleshoots production issues, improves process capability, monitors yields and cycle rates, supports cable qualification testing, approves PPAP/APQP documentation, and assists with equipment installation and debugging. Collaborates with design, product management, quality, and production teams while providing training and supporting cost-reduction initiatives.

Manages customer-specific and internal projects from initiation through closure. Develops schedules, budgets, statements of work, progress reports, and compliance documentation; coordinates sponsors and project teams; manages scope, risks, deliverables, invoices, and customer relationships. Leads project meetings, delegates tasks, resolves issues, supports continuous improvement, and conducts post-project evaluations. The role operates in a manufacturing environment with up to 10% travel and access to export-controlled technical data.

Manages complex customer accounts, orders, quotes, schedules, escalations, and issue resolution. Coordinates cross-functional teams to address delivery, quality, engineering, production, and commercial risks. Analyzes demand, backlog, forecasts, and performance; develops recovery plans; supports account strategy and customer reviews; coordinates engineering changes; and leads process improvements. Serves as the primary escalation point and subject matter expert for customer operations processes.

Designs and costs manufacturable wire and cable products by interpreting customer specifications, industry standards, and production capabilities. Develops BOMs, routings, test plans, part numbers, and product specifications while supporting quotes, supplier evaluations, contract reviews, and work orders. Leads new product development, problem-solving, continuous improvement, and cross-functional initiatives involving Supply Chain, Quality, and Process Engineering. Requires manufacturing experience, data analysis proficiency, project management skills, and familiarity with Power BI and Microsoft business tools.

Leads the global SAP S/4HANA strategy, roadmap, architecture, governance, support model, and innovation portfolio. Oversees SAP BTP, Fiori, Joule, Build, workflow automation, analytics, AI, integrations, and business value realization. Manages SAP functional and technical leaders, AMS providers, system integrators, SAP relationships, compliance, and technology delivery. Partners with business and IT leaders to improve manufacturing processes, productivity, margins, inventory, customer responsiveness, and decision-making.

Design and develop connector and cable products, translating customer requirements into manufacturable, reliable designs. Create prototypes, oversee testing and qualification, review engineering documentation, and process engineering changes. Collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, customers, and global teams on cost reduction, quality improvements, and issue resolution. The role also requires applying DFMEA and staying current with interconnect and power connector technologies.

Supports thermoplastic extrusion manufacturing through process troubleshooting, scrap reduction, continuous improvement, engineering analysis, DOE trials, and capital equipment qualification. Develops standard work, tooling and equipment documentation, and provides design-for-manufacturability guidance for new products. Coordinates with maintenance, EHS, operations, and design engineering to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and process capability.

Supports engineering, marketing, and sales teams by translating customer specifications into interconnect product solutions. Reviews designs, prepares technical proposals, quotations, drawings, samples, and cost estimates; resolves technical issues; supports manufacturing processes; and contributes to product innovation and marketing materials. The role develops customer relationships, supports new product opportunities, and travels approximately 30%–50% to customer sites.
