Design Engineer responsible for executing design and development projects involving steel fabrication, weldments, engines, drivetrains, hydraulics and electronic controls; support sales, production, service; maintain prints and configuration control; troubleshoot, identify cost savings, and support cross-functional teams.

Lead design and development of heavy equipment (chippers, grinders, sawmill gear), managing projects from concept through validation. Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, support manufacturing, troubleshoot systems, perform root-cause analysis, and drive cost, quality, and manufacturability improvements while collaborating across sales, production, service, and operations.

Manage plant accounting and financial operations including GAAP-compliant month and year-end reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cost and inventory control, internal controls and audits, financial analysis to support strategic decisions, and lead finance teams/projects within a manufacturing environment.

Develop, test, and support embedded machine control software and operator interfaces using platforms like Parker IQAN and CODESYS. Design control logic and PID loops, integrate electrical and hydraulic systems, debug and validate software on bench and machines, and collaborate with electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical engineers. Provide field support, diagnostics, and continuous improvement for Morbark equipment.

Support and maintain the Quality Management System, perform root cause investigations and CAPAs, analyze quality performance, develop inspection and process control procedures, audit QMS compliance, coordinate with suppliers and engineering, and evaluate cost of quality in a manufacturing environment.

Design, analyze, and improve manufacturing processes and tooling. Lead problem solving for production issues, validate cycle times, conduct time studies, coach production staff, and work with suppliers to ensure parts and equipment meet specifications.
