Position Summary  

 

Morbark’s Industrial Engineer works as part of a team to define and improve manufacturing processes. This role operates under minimal supervision and independently prepares, conducts, and evaluates analyses for planning and implementing new or modified process designs. The Industrial Engineer will lead problem-solving efforts for manufacturing issues—including production methods, procedures, layout, production flow, tooling, equipment, material fabrication, assembly methods, and planning in Pre-Production, Production, or Post-Production environments. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Identify and implement lean process improvements throughout the organization. 
  • Collect, organize, and analyze technical data. 
  • Support engineering change implementation using JD Edwards and communicate requirements internally. 
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day process performance issues, develop solutions, and monitor improvements. 
  • Apply problem-solving methods to address safety, quality, and performance issues. 
  • Monitor and improve safety and ergonomics to reduce worker fatigue and injuries. 
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to implement automation, robotics, and digital tools. 
  • Validate process cycle times by conducting time studies. 
  • Maintain Bills of Material (BOM) and routings for product and process changes. 
  • Determine manufacturing time and cost of new assemblies; provide Production Managers with labor quotes. 
  • Advise and plan facility layout requirements to support business planning.
