Lead the full lifecycle of large-scale high-temperature superconducting magnet systems for fusion hardware. Responsibilities include HTS cable and magnet design, multiphysics analysis, quench protection, manufacturing oversight, electro-mechanical and cryogenic integration, qualification testing, failure analysis, vendor management, commissioning, and program risk mitigation. The role requires extensive experience with fusion-scale superconducting magnets, large manufacturing programs, cryogenic testing, and cross-functional systems engineering leadership.

Lead hardware verification and validation for superconducting magnets, cryogenic systems, and high-vacuum components. Develop test strategies, oversee custom cryogenic and high-power test stands, analyze failure data, manage specialized vendors, and enforce safety standards. Mentor test engineers and technicians while collaborating across manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, controls, and physics teams to qualify fusion-energy hardware.

Lead the architectural design, development, and commissioning of automated reel-to-reel manufacturing systems for superconducting magnets. Own web handling, tension control, winding, steering, inline inspection, and process automation. Guide manufacturing and design teams as the technical subject matter expert, manage equipment vendors and integrators, and improve throughput, yield, and reliability through advanced electromechanical solutions.

Manage strategic sourcing and technical subcontracts for commercial fusion systems. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating complex supplier agreements, managing vendor performance against statements of work, protecting intellectual property, assessing global suppliers, coordinating engineering, finance, and legal stakeholders, and mitigating financial, operational, and legal risks.

Supports HTS magnet manufacturing and testing through documentation, tooling and fixture development, inventory and BOM management, procurement, quality checks, and production metric tracking. Collaborates with test engineers, magnet designers, and manufacturing engineers to apply lessons learned to future designs. The role includes hands-on prototyping, fabrication, assembly, commissioning, and multidisciplinary engineering problem-solving in an industrial facility with cryogenic, high-voltage, high-current, and magnetic hazards.

Manage and optimize high-bandwidth, low-latency VFX network infrastructure supporting render farms, storage, cloud rendering, artist collaboration, and remote workstations. Configure AWS Deadline Cloud, troubleshoot Maya and Arnold rendering, build asset-transfer and per-show environment systems, optimize Linux and Windows pipelines, and document architecture and procedures. The role requires strong Python and Bash scripting, networking, storage, systems administration, render-farm, and VFX pipeline expertise.

Support manufacturing engineering for HTS magnet assemblies: create and update SOPs, assist tooling/prototyping/commissioning, manage BOMs and inventory, evaluate vendor parts, track production metrics, and work with designers to incorporate shop-floor lessons. Also assist with basic IT/device support and documentation for employees.

Develop and implement manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment for HTS magnet production. Create work instructions, BOMs, and quality criteria; procure vendor hardware; scale prototype processes to production; onboard technicians; track program milestones; and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
