Leads the Public History team and directs storytelling across exhibits, tours, programs, media, publications, partnerships, and emerging formats. Oversees content strategy, visitor-centered interpretation, external collaborations, budgets, and multiple projects. Serves as a public representative through media appearances and presentations, mentors staff, develops writers, and contributes hands-on exhibit and publication content. Requires strong leadership, public writing, communication, organization, museum storytelling knowledge, and 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience.

Greet and assist museum visitors to create welcoming, accessible experiences; provide wayfinding, explain gallery guidelines, support retail shop sales and POS transactions, help with events and traffic flow, and promote membership, donations, and volunteering.

Develops and executes 2–4 public programs monthly for the African American History Initiative, collaborating with community organizations, scholars, artists, and internal museum teams. Manages logistics, budgets, contracts, outreach, and volunteer coordination; supports departmental initiatives, exhibits, and internal communications. Engages diverse audiences and ensures programs align with AAHI priorities and museum-wide goals.
