The Senior Grant Writer researches funding opportunities and leads complex government, corporate, and foundation proposal development. Responsibilities include analyzing RFPs, drafting narratives, budgets, and attachments, coordinating internal teams and external partners, managing proposal schedules and grant reports, liaising with funders, preparing fundraising materials, mentoring junior writers, and supporting fundraising strategy. The role also develops expertise in reentry-related programs and contributes to the Development and Communications unit.

Leads Fortune Society’s organization-wide fundraising and communications strategy. Oversees government, foundation, corporate, major gift, individual, and event fundraising; manages development and communications staff, consultants, donor cultivation, grant writing, prospect research, and reporting. Directs branding, public relations, media relations, digital communications, social media, publications, advocacy messaging, and community outreach. Serves on the executive team, collaborates with the board, legislators, lobbyists, donors, and partners, and supports organizational visibility and revenue growth.

Develops and maintains organizational budgets, financial reports, variance analyses, scorecards, and KPI tools. Partners with leadership, programs, grants, development, and HR to monitor financial performance, support RFP budgets, manage grant reporting and invoicing, track staffing, and facilitate contract rollouts. Provides general finance support, participates in annual budgeting, and assists with FUND EZ to Sage Intacct conversion projects.

Support communications by creating and scheduling social media content, designing graphics and print materials, photographing and editing photo/video, managing email newsletters, analyzing engagement, maintaining calendars and shared assets, and assisting with events and website updates.

Provide strategic leadership for communications, branding, media relations, digital engagement, and executive messaging. Oversee communications staff and consultants, produce publications and donor communications, support individual giving and major donor cultivation, and collaborate with senior leadership to grow Fortune's public profile and philanthropic support.

Lead internal program audits and chart/documentation reviews, report findings, and partner with program leaders to implement corrective actions. Develop QA tools, maintain audit records, support CQI initiatives, ensure data integrity for reporting, assist with funder/regulatory preparedness, and conduct special reviews as requested.

Lead Fortune's technology strategy and operations, oversee IT services, integrations, EHR and case management systems, data governance, cybersecurity, budgets, vendor relationships, and an IT leadership team to support organizational goals and reporting.

Support Senior Controller and Director of Accounting to maintain internal controls, manage month-end close, oversee payroll/accounts payable backups, assist with government grants/contracts and claims, coordinate audits and tax filings (Form 990/1099), manage cash, property rental portfolio, insurance and retirement plans, and supervise accounting staff and vendors.

Support HR programs and Learning & Development by coordinating new hire orientation, scheduling trainings, maintaining HRIS and employee records, tracking performance evaluations, producing reports, and providing frontline employee support.
