Designs mechanical layouts and components for transformers, calculates dimensions and specifications, reviews customer requirements, resolves shop-floor issues, and supports engineering, quoting, scheduling, training, and process improvement. The role collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, quality, planning, and operations teams, using ProE or PTC Creo and Microsoft Office. Occasional travel may be required, with work performed primarily on a manufacturing shop floor and in an office.

Design control schemes, schematics, ladder drawings, panel layouts and wiring diagrams for medium/large power transformers. Produce bills of materials, troubleshoot designs during manufacturing and testing, incorporate customer revisions, prepare mechanical documentation, research components, and coordinate with mechanical designers, manufacturing, customers and vendors.

Manage multiple transformer manufacturing projects from kickoff through closeout while serving as the primary customer liaison. Coordinate engineering, operations, logistics, suppliers, and service teams; track schedules, milestones, risks, change orders, KPIs, and financial performance. Lead customer meetings, resolve conflicts and project issues, provide status updates, and maintain alignment among internal and external stakeholders. The role requires strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and cross-functional influence.

Manages multiple engineered transformer manufacturing projects from kickoff through closeout. Serves as the primary customer liaison, coordinates engineering, operations, logistics, suppliers, and service teams, resolves risks and conflicts, manages change orders, tracks schedules and milestones, and reports project performance and financial health using SAP and Qlik. Requires strong communication, problem-solving, stakeholder coordination, and customer relationship skills.

Manage execution of capital and expansion manufacturing projects: develop and maintain project plans, track scope/schedule/costs, manage risks and changes, coordinate vendors/contractors/stakeholders, report status, and maintain project documentation to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The Sr. Electrical Design Engineer designs new products, improves existing designs, evaluates cost and reliability, and collaborates across teams to meet customer needs and industry standards.
