Temporary front-desk Visitor Services role at the North Carolina Maritime Museum, Southport. Greet and engage visitors, provide excellent customer service, promote exhibits and programs, ensure visitor safety, and support a positive museum experience. Position is part-time, Tuesday–Saturday.

Perform audits of motor fuel suppliers, distributors, and service stations to ensure compliance with state motor fuels, motor carrier, and motor vehicle tax laws. Represent indigent clients charged with criminal offenses in District and Superior Court, focusing on high-level felony cases. Conduct legal research, develop defense strategies, investigate cases, negotiate with prosecutors, prepare and present evidence, maintain client communication, and comply with ethical standards. Visit clients in jail/prison and collaborate with colleagues and investigators.

Performs reviews of erosion and sediment control, stormwater, dam safety, and mining plan submittals for compliance; conducts site inspections; meets with applicants and consultants; provides engineering guidance and written technical/compliance documentation; responds to public inquiries and complaints; supports permit review and approval processes.

Provide academic instruction to deaf and hard-of-hearing students in a residential setting and lead the school's Career & Technical Education (CTE) program, including needs assessments, instructional planning, IEP preparation, budgeting and grant administration, compliance with CTE policies, and coordinating reimbursements and CTE pathways.

Manage FMLA and leave-of-absence programs for NC DMV, ensure compliance with state HR policies, process HRIS actions, review documentation, and support employees and managers on leave-related issues.

Prepare preliminary and final highway design plans and quantity estimates for complex projects. Use advanced Open Roads Designer and ProjectWise skills, apply NCDOT/AASHTO standards, support and train staff on design software and computer configurations, coordinate CADD work, interpret contracts and specifications, collect field data, and complete projects with limited supervision.
