The Principal Software Engineer will configure and extend FAST/GenTax for city use cases, develop APIs, optimize SQL for reporting, and support production systems while documenting processes and upholding city standards.

Set strategic goals, recruit and manage staff, oversee inspections, investigations (including deaths in custody), review policies and data, issue public reports and recommendations, manage a $1.4M budget, engage stakeholders, and run community education and reporting systems to improve prison conditions and compliance with best practices.
