Lead R&D for high-precision undersea navigation systems: design algorithms, perform modeling and simulation, analyze multi-sensor data, manage programs, interact with sponsors, publish results, mentor engineers, and support business development.

Conduct research and development for secure system design and hardening. Apply software and system engineering to embedded and cloud systems, perform cybersecurity testing, support sponsors with technical materials, lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and maintain SECRET-level clearance-required operations. Periodic travel to test sites and on-site collaboration expected.

Design and evaluate autonomy, sensor deployment, and spatio-temporal data fusion frameworks across sea, ground, air, and space domains. Develop data architectures and pipelines, integrate machine learning and computer vision algorithms, quantify uncertainty, and collaborate with analysts and UxV operators from research through production.

Lead design, modeling, prototyping, and testing of EO/IR imaging systems for DoD customers. Perform physics-based modeling, system-level trade studies, camera selection, lab/environmental/field test planning and execution, vendor management, and customer interfacing. Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and develop strategic research directions for imaging and EO/IR programs.

Perform electromagnetic and multiphysics (EM+thermal+fluid) numerical simulations (primarily in CST), assess sensor technologies via literature and market reviews, conduct occasional optics experiments, script data processing/plotting, and prepare reports and slide presentations for government sponsors.

Design, implement, and maintain secure automated infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for HPC and cloud-native environments. Configure bare-metal, virtualized, and containerized compute resources, collaborate in Agile teams, troubleshoot issues, review PRs and unit tests, and demonstrate solutions to internal and external stakeholders.

Provide post-award sponsored project financial compliance and analysis, lead audit and closeout efforts, monitor financial indicators and labor costs, automate reporting, produce reconciliations and ad hoc analyses, deliver training, and partner with campus and central stakeholders to mitigate risk and improve processes.

Lead a 15-person Computational Fluid Dynamics division delivering CFD analyses, code development, V&V, and HPC-optimized simulations for DoD and industry sponsors. Provide technical oversight of complex multiphysics simulations, build research portfolio and partnerships, manage personnel recruitment and development, and secure/lead funded programs. Ensure quality research outputs and coordinate across ARL offices. Role requires Top Secret eligibility, U.S. citizenship, on-site presence in State College, PA, and periodic travel.
