The Director of Communications will lead and implement marketing strategies for the Center for Public Leadership, enhance engagement and outreach, and manage team dynamics. This role includes overseeing content development and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Manage Harvard FAS non-sponsored fund accounting, financial planning, reporting, compliance, fund lifecycle activities, and balance analysis across nearly 10,000 funds. Supervise the Non-Sponsored Funds team, collaborate with finance and development stakeholders, address restricted and stranded funds, monitor deficits, evaluate capitalization requests, improve reporting processes, and provide financial training.

Develop and maintain data cleaning, processing, management, and analysis pipelines for complex health, environmental, and administrative datasets. Program in R, Python, and SQL; create databases and analytic datasets in UNIX and HPC environments; debug and document software; refactor modular pipelines; build containerized data products and dashboards; and support metadata cataloging. The role collaborates closely with biostatistics researchers and senior programmers and may be extended beyond its one-year term.

Supports financial planning, budget development, forecasting, monthly reporting, journal entries, reconciliations, cost transfers, and capital and operating budget analysis. Manages financial reporting for major projects and initiatives, reviews expenditures, ensures compliance with financial controls, and partners with building managers, Campus Services, and finance leadership. The role oversees portions of $150 million in capital and $165 million in operations and maintenance budgets.

Manages Harvard residential House administration, finances, budgets, staffing, communications, events, housing assignments, policies, and student services. Advises Faculty Deans, supervises workers and residential staff financial operations, coordinates major House events, oversees websites and social media, manages housing lotteries and disputes, and supports tutor hiring and training. Requires discretion with confidential information, occasional evening and weekend event support, and collaboration across university offices.

Supports end-to-end strategic sourcing by qualifying suppliers, issuing RFIs and RFQs, analyzing proposals, researching markets, and evaluating costs, delivery, compliance, and supplier risk. Prepares sourcing recommendations, spend and savings reports, presentations, SLAs, and performance metrics. Coordinates with stakeholders and suppliers, supports contracts, audits, business reviews, dispute resolution, and process improvements while contributing to sourcing strategies and procurement projects.

Build and modernize SBGrid’s scientific software platform across Linux and macOS. Responsibilities include designing CI/CD pipelines, developing automated tests, creating reproducible packages and deterministic builds, tracking dependencies and artifacts, hardening runtime systems, improving observability, and strengthening software supply-chain integrity. The role involves substantial platform engineering and development work, with opportunities to support HPC, containers, infrastructure automation, and scientific research software ecosystems.
