Interns may also gain exposure to satellite testing, environmental testing, and spacecraft operations while receiving mentorship and presenting their work.

Supports satellite program execution from planning through launch and early orbit operations. Responsibilities include maintaining integrated schedules, tracking costs, risks, actions, and dependencies, coordinating technical scope across engineering teams, analyzing program data, improving program management processes, and presenting internship deliverables.

Mechanical Engineering Intern supporting satellite hardware design and development. Responsibilities include translating requirements into mechanical constraints, creating 3D CAD models and engineering drawings, performing structural analysis, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting prototyping, manufacturing, documentation, and design validation. The intern will own a meaningful project through stages from concept to detailed design and may present results at the internship’s conclusion.

Build and operate Python backend services for Oort, Loft Orbital’s mission lifecycle platform. Design APIs, integrations, and database interactions that connect infrastructure data and tools across teams.
