The Project Engineer will enhance TRUMPF's production processes through design optimization, project management, cross-functional collaboration, and quality assurance.

Design and engineer custom punch and die tooling for sheet metal applications, program EDM and hard-milling processes, produce technical drawings and documentation, validate tooling via testing, handle ECNs, and provide pre- and post-sales technical support to customers and production teams.

Provides customer-specific training and applications engineering support for sheet metal design optimization and manufacturing. Delivers courses, demonstrations, and multilingual technical content; programs TRUMPF machines; performs time studies, feasibility analyses, and tool selection; supports cutting, punching, bending, and forming applications; assists sales with demonstrations and customer consultations; develops training materials and maintains customer relationships. The role requires approximately 50% national and international travel.

Qualify and nurture inbound and marketing-generated leads using structured BANT+MEDDICC processes, convert MQLs to SQLs, schedule sales meetings, maintain CRM data integrity, report on lead performance, and recommend process improvements to increase conversion and pipeline velocity.

The Project Engineer will manage projects, improve manufacturing processes using lean principles, and ensure project success through effective communication and documentation.

Lead full-cycle recruitment for technical and corporate roles, design talent strategies, leverage KPIs, ensure compliance, and mentor junior recruiters.

Install, configure, integrate, and support TRUMPF Oseon and TruTops Boost for Smart Factory automation. Plan with customers, configure machinery for data exchange, perform upgrades, troubleshoot remotely and onsite, and provide local support in Chicago and Farmington with up to 50% travel.

Design and update custom and modular fixtures and workholding for large milling machines. Develop fixture concepts, create 3D models and 2D drawings with GD&T, produce BOMs and assembly drawings, and collaborate with CNC programmers and product development to validate performance, safety, and manufacturability.
