The role provides exposure to data visualization, survey analysis, data cleaning and validation, and analytics tools including Excel, Power BI, and Python, while developing professional relationships and business skills.

Supports NiSource’s State Affairs department through stakeholder engagement, community outreach, legislative and regulatory research, briefing materials, meeting and event coordination, information tracking, and internal updates. The intern will assist with cross-functional initiatives, maintain stakeholder records, research emerging issues, track action items, and complete a capstone project involving analysis, recommendations, and presentation of findings.

Supports NiSource’s Federal Government Affairs team by helping execute government affairs strategies, develop public policy priorities and advocacy plans, summarize hearing testimony, and advance Political Action Committee initiatives. The intern will also improve PAC record-keeping, prepare meeting materials, and collaborate with internal stakeholders. This is a 12-week, 40-hour-per-week summer internship in Washington, D.C., for students entering their junior or senior year.
