Responsibilities include challenging first-line risk reporting, supporting Bermuda EBS activities, overseeing ALM model governance and compliance, preparing risk documentation and reporting, supporting audits and regulatory reviews, and managing actuarial and ERM resources. The role requires deep life and annuity reinsurance, insurance ALM, capital framework, economic capital modeling, and long-term liability expertise, with hybrid work in Nashville and travel to Jersey City.

Manage FHLB membership, collateral pledging, borrowing capacity, advance structuring, and related regulatory reporting. Integrate FHLB advances and intercompany funding arrangements into liquidity, asset-liability management, contingency funding, stress testing, and spread-lending strategies. Coordinate with investments, legal, accounting, actuarial, custodians, external managers, and the regional FHLBank while ensuring compliance with credit policies, statutory requirements, and pledge agreements.

The AVP, Market Risk and ALM and Hedging oversees risk management programs, performs quantitative modeling, ensures regulatory compliance, and collaborates across teams for effective asset-liability management and risk mitigation strategies.

Support and lead origination, evaluation, due diligence, structuring, and execution of life & annuity M&A and reinsurance deals globally. Coordinate cross-functional teams, prepare client L&A presentation materials, maintain advisor relationships, perform market research and financial modeling, and contribute to strategic planning and deal lifecycle management alongside senior leadership.

Manage the consolidated ASC 740 tax provision, including current/deferred calculations, ETR analysis, and tax footnotes. Handle investment-related tax matters, implement tax technical guidance, coordinate audits, prepare complex returns, maintain tax policies, and collaborate with Finance, Legal, Treasury and external advisors. Mentor junior staff and improve tax processes and automation tools.

Support capital management strategic initiatives across entities and regulatory regimes: optimize capital, develop internal models, improve systems and reporting, lead model validation and governance, evaluate new business and reinsurance for capital impacts, and collaborate with actuarial, finance, investments and ALM teams to implement transformations.

Lead and support strategic capital management initiatives including regulatory capital frameworks, internal model development, model governance, capital optimization, and transition of new business from pricing to inforce reporting. Collaborate across actuarial, finance, investments, pricing, and ALM to improve systems, modeling capabilities, and reporting efficiency.
