Leads end-to-end electrical design and development of automotive battery management systems for high-voltage applications. Defines BMS architecture, designs circuits and PCBs, integrates microcontrollers and sensors, builds prototypes, and validates hardware performance and safety. Ensures compliance with ISO 26262 and IEC 62133, creates engineering documentation and safety analyses, troubleshoots hardware issues, and coordinates cross-functional and global design teams.

Leads the design, development, and validation of battery management system controls, state estimation algorithms, diagnostics, functional safety features, and high-voltage safety logic. Develops battery models and production embedded software using MATLAB, Simulink, and model-based design. Responsibilities include creating test specifications, automation scripts, manufacturing process profiles, work instructions, PLC and HMI controls, software integrations, and safety-focused test flows. The engineer troubleshoots battery, power electronics, CAN, and manufacturing systems; analyzes test data; supports PFMEA and supplier audits; and collaborates with hardware, software, systems, quality, and manufacturing teams.

Manages complex mechanical and electrical service issues across battery product lines. Leads field service, customer and warranty issue resolution, 8D problem solving, testing and validation, troubleshooting documentation, design improvements, and serviceability reviews. Collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, suppliers, and customers to resolve system problems, improve repair times, and support production changes. Requires approximately 25% domestic and international travel.

Designs, develops, and implements manufacturing processes and equipment for new product introduction and production. Leads process planning, tooling and equipment readiness, production launches, continuous improvement, documentation, DFM/A evaluations, cost estimates, equipment qualification, safety compliance, and quality-system support. Requires collaboration with operators and project teams in industrial environments, along with troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment and controls. The role may require travel to support projects and visits to production sites.

Leads controls engineering for manufacturing machinery, including PLC programming, troubleshooting, system upgrades, MES and SQL Server implementation, barcode systems, equipment installations, validation, and continuous improvement. Reviews electrical drawings, develops controls specifications, maintains code, supports production and new product introductions, ensures electrical standards compliance, and travels to equipment integrator sites as needed. The role requires extensive experience with industrial controls, automation software, machine electrical systems, and manufacturing quality systems.

Manages supplier quality for manufactured battery components, including supplier selection, audits, scorecards, nonconformance resolution, corrective actions, logistics issues, and continuous improvement. Partners with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and vendors to ensure compliance with ISO, TS 16949, and applicable regulations. Provides leadership for supplier quality and purchasing activities while supporting new product development, launches, and quality objectives.

Leads supplier selection, capability assessment, quality audits, APQP, PPAP, supplier improvement plans, and component development for automotive battery manufacturing. Partners with suppliers and internal engineering teams to resolve nonconformances, improve process capability, quality, cost, logistics, and delivery, while ensuring compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ASIL, and customer requirements. Provides technical leadership, supplier performance reporting, staff training, and continuous improvement oversight.

Owns and leads ISO 26262 functional safety activities for high-voltage lithium-ion battery systems from concept through production. Develops HARA, safety goals, ASIL classifications, safety concepts, FTA, FMEDA, requirements traceability, verification strategies, and safety evidence. Reviews BMS architectures and safety-related hardware, resolves safety issues, supports audits and assessments, and mentors engineering teams. Collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and customers to ensure compliant, reliable product development.

Develops and manages suppliers for component quality, cost, capacity, delivery, and manufacturing capability. Responsibilities include supplier qualification, audits, scorecards, APQP, PPAP, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, continuous improvement, new product launches, and supplier performance enhancement. Partners with engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and customers to resolve issues and ensure compliance with ISO, IATF, and applicable manufacturing standards.
