Provides supervised, hands-on experience supporting business customers in a transportation setting. The intern learns account management, shipment operations, customer communication, logistics workflows, performance indicators, service offerings, and technology-enabled order management. The role involves observing and practicing customer experience strategies while identifying solutions based on shipping patterns, capacity, pricing, seasonality, and customer needs.

Intern will gain hands-on experience in transportation brokerage operations, including verifying carriers, maintaining shipment records, monitoring freight, analyzing market trends and pricing, supporting carrier negotiations, and communicating service issues. The role provides exposure to capacity management, margin goals, carrier relationships, and logistics technology. Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and work 40 hours weekly during the summer.

The Sales Development Executive contacts prospective customers, sells solutions, coordinates with internal teams, and develops strategies for account growth.

Manages relationships with assigned business customers to improve service performance, retention, and growth. Coordinates with internal operations, pricing, and support teams to deliver on-time shipments, accurate billing, capacity, and strong margins. Analyzes customer KPIs, resolves issues, presents performance updates, supports technology adoption, and identifies solutions to improve shipment operations and customer satisfaction.

Generates and converts new business opportunities for transportation services through prospecting, customer meetings, needs assessment, proposals, negotiations, and contract closing. Develops account strategies, coordinates solution implementation, establishes customer success expectations, monitors KPIs and revenue quality, and transitions mature accounts to internal account management teams. Requires North American Truckload experience, local customer travel, and a valid driver’s license.

Executes customer freight orders, supports on-time and damage-free delivery, resolves service issues, schedules pickup and delivery appointments, enters orders into an order management system, and communicates load status and capacity availability. The role builds customer relationships, documents accessorial and spot-rate approvals, and helps maximize freight volume and customer satisfaction.

It requires local customer travel, occasional overnight travel, sales or account management experience, and at least one year of North American Truckload experience.

Manages complex client accounts by coordinating internal teams, maintaining customer satisfaction, driving retention and growth, monitoring profitability and billing, leading pricing and proposals, presenting performance metrics, and executing service expansions and special projects. Requires collaboration across operations, customer experience, and client stakeholders, with travel based on account needs.
