Leads a portfolio of national security remote sensing programs for U.S. government and intelligence customers. Manages cost, schedules, budgets, contractual commitments, risks, operational performance, customer relationships, and cross-functional execution. Translates mission needs into product requirements, capabilities, and operational plans while supporting captures, proposals, growth strategies, and technology transitions. Partners with engineering, product, mission operations, analytics, finance, contracts, and business development teams.

Leads Umbra’s internal and external communications, including media relations, executive messaging, corporate narrative, employee communications, press engagement, major announcements, crisis response, and communications strategy. Advises senior leaders, translates complex space and technology topics into compelling content, coordinates cross-functional stakeholders, manages communications agencies, and develops metrics and processes to strengthen the company’s reputation and reach.

Lead the architecture, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and platform infrastructure supporting satellite operations, analytics, machine learning, and business decisions. Build data warehouses, lakehouse systems, data models, and dbt transformations; operate platforms using Databricks and related cloud services; and ensure data quality, reliability, security, governance, observability, lineage, and cost efficiency. Collaborate with product owners and multidisciplinary engineering teams on data requirements and platform capabilities.

Lead Umbra's legislative strategy and serve as the company's principal representative to Congress. Build trusted Hill relationships, draft statutory/report language, transition pilots into enduring funded programs, align legislative work with policy and business development, prepare executives for Hill engagements, manage consultants and compliance, and translate legislative developments into actionable guidance for leadership.

Lead development and sustainment of spacecraft and payload production lines. Create and document manufacturing procedures, plan prototype builds, train production staff, translate designs into build plans, resolve manufacturing discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and support product introductions and continuous process improvements for high-reliability space hardware.

Lead execution of complex U.S. government space programs, managing cost, schedule, technical performance, risks, and customer relationships. Develop integrated plans, budgets, forecasts, and risk strategies; partner with engineering, product, finance, and contracts; participate in Agile ceremonies and proposal efforts to drive delivery and follow-on opportunities.

Design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable backend services and APIs that support satellite mission planning, scheduling, command/control, and communications. Own production services, improve resiliency, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver and operate autonomous satellite operations software with strong observability, testing, and CI/CD practices.

Lead design, analysis, build, and test of spacecraft mechanisms and pointing systems. Own architecture, component selection, motorization and pointing budgets, ICDs, qualification campaigns, and verification testing. Mentor engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, troubleshoot hardware issues, and support launch/test activities to ensure flight-proven, manufacturable designs.

Lead end-to-end architecture, integration, and lifecycle management of Type-1 cryptographic capabilities across spacecraft, payloads, and ground systems. Define COMSEC architecture, key management and loading, and drive NSA certification and accreditation. Interface with mission systems, RF, flight software, and government stakeholders; mitigate cryptographic and supply-chain risks; and establish reusable cryptographic standards, processes, and operational procedures for on-orbit fleet operations.

Manage end-to-end proposal development for government and commercial solicitations: coordinate schedules, ensure compliance with solicitations and federal acquisition rules, collect and review content with cross-functional teams, maintain proposal repositories, track metrics, support post-submission activities, and improve proposal processes and tools to scale with company growth.
