Supports Investments and Accounting teams by analyzing business needs, developing technology solutions, resolving production issues, documenting requirements and procedures, creating test scripts, conducting testing, and training users on new or enhanced systems. The role collaborates with senior analysts and cross-functional business partners to improve operational effectiveness.

Lead STRS Ohio’s third-party risk management program by developing policies and procedures, managing vendor due diligence and questionnaires, reviewing contracts, facilitating risk assessments, and monitoring regulatory, cybersecurity, AI, supply-chain, geopolitical, sanctions, and operational-resilience risks. The role coordinates with vendors, internal stakeholders, sourcing, vendor management, and legal/compliance teams to strengthen oversight and reduce technology and business risk.

Lead and manage Investment Operations for public and private investments, overseeing trade support, reconciliations, corporate actions, cash flows, and manager onboarding/terminations. Maintain IBOR and OMS platforms (SimCorp, Triton, Bloomberg AIM). Supervise teams, drive workflow improvements, ensure controls, and partner with investments, IT, legal, compliance, and finance to enable efficient, scalable investment operations.

Process daily cash settlements and reconciliations for investment activity, apply cash transactions, research and resolve discrepancies, support month-end close and variance analysis, collaborate with internal teams, maintain internal controls, support audits, and assist with process improvements and special projects.

Maintain availability, performance, and integrity of databases and OS platforms. Install, upgrade, patch, backup/recover, tune, monitor, and automate database tasks. Provide 24/7 on-call support. (AI specialist role adds leveraging AI tools, building/deploying Copilot Studio agents, and prompt engineering.)

Process and reconcile daily securities transactions (bonds, stocks, alternatives, real estate), manage corporate actions, coordinate with brokers and custodians, complete position reconciliations and monthly sign-offs, and support the investment operations team during peak periods.
