The Systems Engineer will own the spacecraft simulation toolchain for Vast, focusing on supporting design and analysis for spacecraft systems, ensuring rigorous validation and collaboration across disciplines.

Lead and grow a fluid systems design team for human-rated space stations, owning component-level design for propulsion, TCS and ECLSS. Drive vehicle packaging, design practices, tool development, cross-discipline integration, test support, supplier/government interfaces, risk management, and lessons-learned capture to enable development, qualification, and flight hardware delivery.

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will design and implement manufacturing processes for tube systems to support the development of artificial-gravity space stations. Responsibilities include developing plans, resolving manufacturing issues, collaborating with engineers, and enhancing production efficiency.

Support development and maintenance of security policies, compliance documentation, and continuous monitoring across NIST, CMMC, and export-control regimes. Conduct assessments, gap analysis, remediations, and assist security engineering and audits. Recommend security tools, provide training, and support ATO/authorization efforts for mission environments.

Leads NASA-focused business development for Vast’s lunar and cislunar initiatives. Responsibilities include developing NASA lunar market strategy, managing customer engagement and capture efforts, shaping opportunities, building international partnerships, analyzing NASA funding priorities, advising leadership on cost and risk, supporting proposals, and representing Vast at industry events. The role requires strong knowledge of NASA procurement, civil space programs, government contracting, and commercial space systems.

Own end-to-end structural engineering for lunar habitats, airlocks, nodes, pallets, and related systems. Design and analyze primary and secondary structures, pressure vessels, mechanisms, and micrometeoroid shielding; define loads and safety margins; create CAD and manufacturing drawings; coordinate subsystem interfaces; lead fabrication, verification testing, hardware checkout, and anomaly resolution. Support structural, pressure, hatch, and seal testing while establishing standards for Vast’s Lunar program.

Own end-to-end mechanical engineering projects for Vast’s lunar ecosystem, including power stations, fluid systems, airlocks, nodes, and habitation modules. Lead lunar design trade studies, develop CAD models, drive fabrication and hardware integration, resolve anomalies, and represent systems at design reviews. The role requires hands-on ownership from concept through flight release, qualification, and testing while collaborating across power, thermal, avionics, life support, manufacturing, and systems architecture teams.

Lead full-cycle technical recruiting for multiple engineering disciplines: partner with hiring managers, source passive candidates, manage pipelines and ATS, run interview debriefs, report recruiting metrics, improve hiring velocity, and ensure a high-quality candidate experience while representing Vast's mission.

Design, implement, and support fixtures and tooling for Haven-1 assembly, lifting, and handling. Collaborate with integration, manufacturing, and vehicle engineering to define tooling specs, perform mechanical/FEA analysis, develop operation and maintenance plans, manage project schedules and vendors, iterate tooling improvements, and resolve production issues with technicians and stakeholders.

Lead reliability and design reviews for human-rated artificial-gravity space station systems. Oversee qualification and test completeness, drive engineering standards and processes, capture lessons learned, and partner cross-functionally to ensure design maturity, configuration control, and safe, resilient hardware development.
