The role involves distributed systems architecture, product ownership, automation, stakeholder collaboration, and shipping resilient, testable software that supports global compliance operations.

Build and operate scalable backend and frontend systems for Wise’s scam prevention platform. Develop financial crime controls, transaction monitoring, and detection capabilities that protect customers from scams. Work primarily on Java/JVM backend services with some React, JavaScript, or TypeScript frontend development. Own projects end to end, design resilient database schemas, optimize queries, operate CI/CD pipelines, and apply testing and best engineering practices.

Own the Americas customer lifecycle marketing strategy, leading a team and developing automated CRM journeys that improve activation, cross-sell, retention, conversion, churn, and lifetime value. Partner with Product, Marketing, Analytics, Regional, Creative, and Engineering teams to align customer communications with product priorities. Use cohort analysis, A/B testing, dashboards, and incremental-lift measurement to guide strategy and demonstrate commercial impact.

Lead Wise’s strategic bank and payment service provider partnerships across Europe. Own direct access to payment schemes and central bank infrastructure, negotiate commercial terms and service levels, manage onboarding and compliance processes, and coordinate integrations with Product, Engineering, Legal, Risk, and Compliance. Optimize payment costs, speed, liquidity, transaction performance, and operational scalability while translating European clearing requirements into product and infrastructure roadmaps.

Lead a FinCrime Operations team responsible for mitigating financial crime risks, maintaining regulatory compliance, and meeting performance and quality targets. Coach and develop analysts, manage daily operations, guide complex cases, monitor KPIs, identify process improvements, escalate control weaknesses, and collaborate with stakeholders. Serve as a subject matter expert in KYC, AML, fraud, screening, and risk-based financial crime prevention.

Build and maintain Anaplan models supporting FP&A, capital, liquidity, and group viability forecasts. Manage Anaplan-Snowflake data pipelines, own data inputs and outputs, streamline forecasting workflows, optimize model performance, and translate complex financial requirements into scalable technical solutions.
