Provides executive legal leadership for Nationwide’s property and casualty contingent-liability litigation portfolio, including bad-faith claims, coverage disputes, reserves, settlements, regulatory exposure, and outside counsel management. Advises senior leaders across Legal, Claims, Finance, Underwriting, Reinsurance, and Compliance; establishes litigation governance and risk-mitigation strategies; oversees financial reporting and legal spend; and leads, coaches, and develops attorneys handling complex litigation matters.

The role also advances continuous auditing, analytics, automation, and digital audit practices.

Leads complex accounting, reconciliation assurance, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance activities. Resolves high-risk and aged balance sheet exceptions through research, analytics, collaboration, and reporting. Prepares sophisticated financial statements, transactions, regulatory filings, audit materials, and management presentations. Supports accounting policy development, process improvements, quality assurance testing, and Power BI reporting. Requires strong knowledge of GAAP or STAT, analytical problem-solving, communication, and four to six years of related accounting experience.

Engineers and administers Digital Employee Experience platforms, integrating endpoint, application, identity, network, ITSM, and user sentiment data. Develops experience metrics, dashboards, monitoring, root-cause analysis, automation, and self-healing workflows. Optimizes Windows and macOS environments, applications, and technology changes while integrating ServiceNow and collaborating with engineering and service desk teams. Requires strong communication, secure engineering practices, production support, and continuous improvement of employee technology experiences.

Supports and improves cloud and technology platforms through capacity management, secure engineering, migrations, upgrades, incident and change management, disaster recovery, and production support. The role helps development teams adopt self-service cloud capabilities, transition to AWS CDK-based models, and implement IAM and KMS governance. Frequent travel and physical inspections required; work collaboratively with clients, agents, and internal partners to improve safety and insurability for grain co-ops, dairies, agronomy, and food/feed operations.

Underwrites complex middle-market commercial farm insurance, including new business, renewals, and endorsements. Evaluates risk acceptability, pricing, coverage, exceptions, portfolios, and agency performance within underwriting authority. Provides technical guidance on complex accounts, resolves escalated issues, supports business development and retention, communicates with agents and internal partners, and trains or leads less experienced underwriters.
