Provide legal and regulatory guidance on AI adoption across Vanguard, develop and maintain AI governance frameworks, review and negotiate AI-related vendor contracts, identify and mitigate AI risks, draft AI policies and procedures, monitor AI-related legislation, and train internal stakeholders on legal implications of AI use.

Build backend microservices and REST APIs, optimize system performance, integrate data sources, ensure security and resilience, provide production support, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot. Build and maintain AWS-based microservices and serverless solutions, implement API security (OAuth/Okta/JWT), monitor performance with Splunk/Honeycomb/CloudWatch, support production reliability, participate in Agile teams, and mentor junior engineers.

Manage and mentor a cloud platform engineering team to design, operate, and evolve scalable, secure hybrid cloud platforms. Provide technical leadership, incident decision-making, cross-team coordination, governance, automation, and documentation while driving reliability, performance, and cloud migration initiatives.
